About Us

The Vineyards

Some of the most important decisions we make each year are in our vineyard. The quality of fruit that we grow and buy from other Nova Scotia vineyards defines the wines that we ultimately produce. Our estate vineyard is located on the hills surrounding the winery and is comprised of Pinot Grigio, Muscat, Reliant, Geisenheim Riesling, L'Acadie, Castel, Gamay Noir, and DeChaunac grapes. The south facing slope of the vineyard gets very good sun exposure which is ideal in our typically cool climate and short growing season. Planting varietals that are best suited to the specific conditions of each block means that a single acre may have several varietals to optimize growing conditions and foster the flavors and tastes that define our wines. Our estate-grown grapes are supplemented by fruit sourced from local vineyards to ensure our products reflect the unique terroir of the Annapolis Valley.

The Winery

With environmental impact in mind, our winery was built using insulated concrete forms (ICF). Building with ICF allows concrete buildings to be built stronger and more energy efficient than traditionally built wooden structures.
